In February, Minister for Local Government, Hon John Castrilli MLA, announced a package of wide-ranging local government reform strategies.
The principal strategies in the package focus on voluntary structural reform of local government.
Local governments are being encouraged to look at voluntarily amalgamating and forming larger local governments, reducing the total number of elected members to between six and nine and to investigate ways to engage with neighbouring Councils in resource sharing to assist with the efficient delivery of services.
As part of this process, the City is undertaking a review of its boundaries and elected representation and is seeking your comments.
-
By reducing the total number of elected members from 11 to between 6 and 9, do you believe you will receive adequate representation?
-
Do you believe the current City of Canning boundaries are appropriate, considering where you live and where you access services?
-
Do you believe boundary changes would be beneficial to the community?
Your comments can be sent to customer@canning.wa.gov.au or posted to Locked Bag 80, Welshpool WA 6986. Please identify your submissions as Local Government Reform.
