The Planning Service aims to create a high quality urban environment for the city. This is achieved through the day to day guiding of development activity and the preparation and implementation of long terms strategic plans. The operations of Planning Services comprise:

Statutory Planning	Assesment and determination of applications for development approval, subdivisions and amendments to planning schemes
Strategic Planning	Preparation, review and implementation of planning legislation and strategic planning projects.
Information	Provision of information on a range of planning matters.

Details on a range of the City's planning requirements and information on how to go about submitting development applications are provided on this site. You can also read about current strategic planning projects relating to the future direction and development of the city. We also invite you to comment on various planning issues and developments that are currently under consideration.
