In 1979 the City of Canning conducted a study that showed a growing demand for a complex to cater for the community’s sporting, fitness and recreational needs.  Under the terms of the City’s policy to be debt free, money for the project was progressively put aside. Additional assistance of $1.3 million was provided by the Ministry of Sport & Recreation, plus a further $250,000 was provided by the Lotteries Commission.  The facilities provided are of world-class standards.

The Aquatic Hall offers a number of facilities.  There is a 50m Olympic Pool and Leisure Pool, plus a 50m Waterslide and the adjacent Plunge Pool.

Contours Fitness Centre offers a fully equipped gymnasium, with a separate Aerobics Room. 

The Therapy Suite has a 10m x 5m Hydro Pool, heated to 34 degrees, with remote control hydraulic access available. Wheelchairs, including a fully submersible wheelchair, are available on site. There is a Deluxe Spa, heated to 35 degrees, plus a Sauna and a Steam Room. 

Tumblers Kids Gym has been specifically designed for the younger members of the family. It is four levels of fun & adventure! There is a specially constructed play area for babies, plus a toddler’s circuit. Birthdays are fun at the Leisureplex, with a choice of three party styles, depending on the age of the children.  There is a minimum of 8 children and a maximum of 14 for the Tumblers Birthday Party. Superslide Parties also have a minimum of 8 children, however the maximum for both parties is 10 children, before a second party leader is required.

The Bill Cole Function Centre is available for long and short term hire.  Catering can be provided or can be do-it-yourself. The area has a large, well-presented heat and serve kitchen. Three interconnected meeting rooms can accommodate 40 to100 people, while the large function room can accommodate up to 290 people. The amenities include tables and chairs, plus audio-visual equipment if desired. 

The Stay’N’Play Creche operates from 8.45am to 12.45pm from Monday to Friday and is closed on Public Holidays. This is to meet the greatest demand.  Stay 'N' Play is open 9am to 12pm during all School Holidays.

Aquacinno Café offers snacks and light meals with seating poolside, next to “Tumblers” Kids Gym and in a courtyard. Patrons don’t need to pay to enter the complex to order from the café.
