City of Canning - Your Say 1170x313 banner June 2016

Community involvement in decision making was strongly identified by the community in the Strategic Community Plan, 2013 under the theme 'Leadership and Governance – How We Decide' with the vision that:

Our leaders are forward thinking, community minded, approachable people who listen to the community and provide the framework for the future planning of our city.

Community engagement is a process that ‘ensures communities can participate in decisions that affect them and at a level that meets their expectations.’

Community engagement is a two way process which includes consulting with, involving, collaborating with and empowering the community. Effective community engagement also involves clear and understandable information that is communicated in a timely manner.

The engagement timeframes and relevant information will be advertised in the local newspaper, twitter, e-newsletter and on this website.

'Your Say Canning' is the City of Canning's online engagement hub

Your Say Canning provides a convenient and easy way to get involved in your community by having your voice heard. Your Say Canning is only one of the ways we'll engage with the community and won’t replace other face-to-face conversations.
