Electors of the City of Canning (the City) can present a petition for the consideration of Council.
The City has implemented an online ePetition system that can facilitate the following:
- Creation of ePetitions
- Collect ePetition signatures
Please note that an e-Petition is not automatically presented to Council based on its closing date. Refer to Petition for details on having your ePetition submitted to Council.
Petitions can be submitted manually via the following process:
- Petitioners complete the following petition form
- Lodge your petition form to the City's Administration, addressed to the Mayor.
Online ePetitions and manual petitions must comply with the City's Standing Orders Local Law 2015.
This form enables you to request the City of Canning to host an ePetition for you on this site. Petitions must relate to matters that are within the jurisdiction of the local government and do not breach the City's Standing Orders Local Law or any other written law.
Your request for an ePetition will be assessed by a City Officer who may contact you to discuss wording or other details.
All fields are compulsory unless otherwise indicated.
Note: Requesting an ePetition is not anonymous. Your name, suburb, and email address will be displayed on the ePetition page and will appear on the City’s website.
By submitting this information to the City, you acknowledge and accept that your personal information will be used by the City and agents and contractors acting on behalf of the City for the purpose of ePetitions. You agree that the City, agents and contractors are entitled to publish the information provided including your personal information on the City’s ePetitions webpages for the purpose of ePetitions.
Please be aware that ePetition confirmation emails may automatically be treated as spam or junk mail by some email providers.
Electors are people registered on the Western Australian Electoral Commission’s roll.
When you enrol to vote, you will be automatically included on the local government roll for your place of residence.
If you also own, occupy, lease/rent property you may also be enrolled as an owner or occupier for that local government district.
To create or sign a petition you must be an elector within the City of Canning’s boundaries.
This ePetitions website is operated by the City of Canning.
