The City of Canning is delighted to be working with the State Government on the masterplan for the Queens Park Regional Open Space and the State Football Centre.
The masterplan is being prepared by the Department of Local Government, Sport and Cultural Industries in collaboration with the City to guide the future enhancement and management of the Queens Park Open Space, including Maniana Park.
The City will work closely with the residents of Queens Park and the Department to ensure that the masterplan - which will consider enhanced public open spaces for local residents to enjoy, plans to improve and preserve surrounding natural bushland, and access to new playing fields - meets the expectations of the local community.
This a great opportunity to revitalise the area, create a more attractive park environment and active space and ensure the future of the open space aligns to the community’s values and daily activities.
This opportunity will result in significant improvements, including a substantial increase in tree planting, improved water management and opportunities to enhance the environment and protect the reserve.
