Our City: Our Future is the basic building block which will inform Council decisions in relation to new projects, operational expenditure and service provision for the next 10+ years.

We received over 1500 submissions via postcards, video interviews, drawings, face to face meetings, workshops as well as by phone, print and online surveys. More than 60,000 people have viewed the community’s ideas which were captured on video and shared on the City's social media.

The main survey was live between January and March 2017, the community’s ideas were then collated and analysed, and a draft Plan was available for public comment between April 20-May 31. Our City: Our Future is available here for download. A print version is available at your local library, from the main office and other key locations in Canning from September 2017 onwards.

Our City: Our Future will shape the City's future direction, priorities and services for 2017-2027 The Strategic Community Plan, Our City: Our Future, is at the heart of a bigger picture, the Integrated Planning and Reporting Framework.

A small review via a Community and Wellbeing Scorecard survey will take place in 2019, with a more extensive review to occur in 2021. Outcomes against Our City: Our Future will feature in the City's annual report and on this website.

Corporate Business Plan 2018 - 2021

The Corporate Business Plan aligns with the City’s directions and priorities identified in the Strategic Community Plan ‘Our City: Future’. This Plan is the mechanism by which the objectives in the Strategic Community Plan will be delivered. It details the actions, services, operations and key projects that the City will deliver within the defined period of 2018 – 2021.

Other critical informing strategies are the Long Term Financial Plan, Workforce Plan, Asset Management Plans, Digital Strategy, Local Planning Strategy and Risk Management Framework.

The Annual Budget and Annual Report set out the resourcing and reporting against the community’s vision. The Corporate Business Plan should be read in conjunction with the Strategic Community Plan which is the overarching document for the community’s vision and aspirations.
