Join in the fun of Bike Month 2021! 


Time to get on a bike for Western Australia’s annual celebration of bike riding. The primary aim of WA Bike Month is to promote and encourage people of all ages and abilities to ride bikes for transport, fun and for a healthier lifestyle. There are plenty of activities on offer for people of all ages and all abilities at the City of Canning to get involved! Further details below.

 

Canning River bike ride maps

Enjoy one of the many cycle routes available in the City of Canning! We even have some handy maps of cycle routes you might like to try including a 3.5km Family Ride, an 8km Active Ride or a 13.5km Challenge Ride. You can download the maps here.

Competition Time: Celebrating Bike Month this October!

Take a photo of yourself enjoying one of the City’s cycle routes along the Canning River Regional Park to go into the draw to win a prize, terms and conditions apply.

Terms and Conditions
 

  1. Entry is open to all residents of the City of Canning. 
  2. Photographs must be taken within the City of Canning.
  3. The competition commences Friday, 1 October 2021 and closes 5pm, Friday, 29 October 2021 
  4. Photographs submitted must be the entrant’s original work and must not have been obtained from a secondary source.
  5. If photographs contain images of children they may only contain images of your own children / members of your family.
  6. All entries may be displayed on the City of Canning’s social media platforms.
  7. There can be multiple entries from one household. One entry per person.
  8. All entries should be accompanied with the following:
    • A photograph of you being out riding / out with your bike; and
    • Whether the entrant consents for the City of Canning to retain their image for use in future publications (web / text / social media / publications).
  9. Entrants go into the draw to win a prize. There is one $200 voucher for a local bike store and a runner up $50 voucher up for grabs in the prize draw. The winner(s) will be randomly selected after the competition has closed. The winner will be announced on the City of Canning’s media platforms and notified via phone. All entries must be submitted via emailing sustainability@canning.wa.gov.auPlease include your name; home address; the location where the photo was taken and your phone number with your submission.

Bike maintenance workshop at CREEC - SOLD OUT! 

People on Bicycles are running a bike maintenance workshop. Come along for a hands-on learning experience of how to service your bike and do basic repairs. BYO Bike and clothes you don't mind getting a bit grubby.

Time: 1pm - 3pm 
Venue: CREEC, Cnr Kent St and Queens Park Rd, Wilson
Cost: FREE
Audience: Children 12 years and over and adults.
