The City of Canning’s new WHS General Contractor Induction is now Live.
Recognising that the City of Canning has a lot of information that can be valuable in ensuring that all workplaces are safe, we’ve designed a new Contractor Induction to help us inform you of critical information to help provide a safe workplace.
From the 1st September 2019, the new induction is mandatory for all contractors and their employees carrying out new works.
If you are a company representative or business owner, you must direct ALL of your employees who will be undertaking work on your behalf at the City of Canning to register and complete their individual inductions. Work may not be carried out until the registration process has been completed and employees or sole traders will not be allowed on site without a valid induction certificate.
There is no cost to complete the induction and there is no limit on how many employees may be inducted.
We recognise this is a big change and we want to work together with contractors to successfully implement the change.
To make the transition easier for everyone we are going to use a staggered approach to implementation which includes:
The person who is administering the company induction portal will need to register here before they or any company employees can complete the individual inductions. This only needs to be completed once for each organisation.
to register as a company administrator
Once your company is registered, you and your employees will need to register to complete your individual safety inductions. Please note that sole traders/suppliers who have already registered their company must also register to complete the individual safety induction - a different username to the company credentials will be required.
to register as an individual working for a contract company
