Request for Speed Calming Measures on Gerard St

Request for Speed Calming Measures on Gerard St

We, the residents of Gerard Street, East Cannington, request the City of Canning to install speed bumps or other traffic-calming measures to address rash driving. After Gibbs Street School Zone (towards Elizabeth St) and the tree roundabout, vehicles frequently accelerate beyond 60 km/h, especially in the evenings/late nights. This poses serious safety concerns and causes excessive noise, affecting the community’s well-being. Unlike Mallard Way, which has effective speed bumps, Gerard Street lacks any speed control measures. Implementing similar solutions here would be cost-effective and crucial in preventing potential accidents. We urge the City of Canning to take immediate action to ensure a safer, quieter neighborhood for all residents.
