Tis the season! Get in the Christmas spirit with the annual Carols by Candlelight! π

Bring a picnic blanket, chairs, the whole family and your best singing voices to share a night of music, dancing, sparkling lights and merry tunes. This is a free unticketed event.
Featuring the Canning City Brass Band, Rossmoyne Community Singers, Avenue Jazz Band plus Earl Cole!
Jessie James will be your MC for the evening, taking you on a journey of Christmas songs and carols to get in the Christmas spirit 
You may recognise Jessie from our previous events such as the Family Fun Australia Day and Canning Art Awards, Jessie can also be seen on Channel 7’s Fresh TV, Caravan & Camping WA, Fresh Escapes and WA Weekender where she smiles her way around WA and the world. 
Jessie’s first love is the stage, and her list of productions is growing strong. In 2020, she rocked Perth’s Crown Theatre in Ben Elton’s ‘We Will Rock You’ (Teacher/Aretha Franklin Bohemian), 2019 Regal Theatre in ‘The Wizard of Oz’ (Ms Gulch), 2018 Regal Theatre for ‘Legally Blonde’ (Elle’s Mom) and was also a part of Gordon Frost’s ‘The Sound of Music’ at Crown Theatre Perth in 2016….and she’ll be back on stage with Perth’s best April 2021 as Elle’s Mum in ‘Legally Blonde’!
Earl Cole πΆ Best known for covering the music of Michael Buble, Frank Sinatra and all the great jazz and swing crooners. Shortly after the passing of Frank Sinatra in 1998, Australian crooner Earl Cole put together a Sinatra tribute called New York, New York and performed sell out shows at a small suburban cafΓ© in Perth. Over 20 years later Earl has proven to be one of Western Australia’s premier vocalists.

We are super excited to have the Waste Warriors on board as our sustainability partners! There are three key things you need to know β»οΈπ
1. BYO - patrons are encouraged to bring your own plates/containers, cutlery and cups from home to enjoy your meals/beverages. We have a cold, filtered water tank on site, please bring your own refillable water bottle too.
2. Buy an Eat Kit - if you can’t BYO we will have Market Eat Kits to purchase at a subsidised rate from our Waste Warriors.
3. Use the dedicated WASTE STATIONS to dispose of your waste. These stations will be manned by some awesome volunteers, who will ensure all waste is disposed of correctly.
This will feature Containers for Change bins - with all funds raised going to the Happy Green World Foundation to print waste education books for children in 8 countries in West Africa.
Please bring your reusable water bottle to fill up at our water station (and coffee cup for a hot drink!)
What Do I Bring?
Bring your own picnic and beverages, or purchase something from one of the many tasty food trucks.
Chairs are allowed however larger camping style chairs are requested to be placed toward the middle & back of the Amphitheatre. This will be marked clearly with signage. Mosquito spray and a jumper for when the breeze comes in!
Travel & Parking
We have free parking on site but why not consider car pooling, walking or riding your bike. π²πΆ

When Does The Concert Start?
The event opens at 5.30pm with a 6.00pm concert start. Enjoy a number of free activities before the show.
How Do I Get To The Civic Amphitheatre?
The Civic Amphitheatre is located behind Council offices at the corner of George Street West and 1317 Albany Highway, Cannington.
Is The Event Accessible?
ACROD parking and accessible toilets are available as well as an easily accessible viewing platform for those in wheelchairs. This is located in the middle of the Amphitheatre and will be marked clearly with signage. We will also have an Auslan Interpreter on stage.
Dogs
We all love our fur babies and dogs are certainly permitted at the Civic Amphitheatre, however please ensure they remain on a leash at all times. We also recommend considering if your dog may get a little frightened by the loud atmosphere.
First Aid
St John Ambulance will be onsite if you require medical attention.
Lost Property
Lost property will be collected and stored with the City Events Team. Any lost property not collected will be available at the City of Canning Civic Centre and you can ring us on Monday to see if we have your lost items.
Weather
In the event of bad weather, please check the City of Canning Facebook page where we will update you with any changes or cancellations. You can also subscribe to any updates by selecting 'Going' or 'Interested' on the Facebook event.
ATMs
There will be no ATMs on site but all of our vendors have EFTPOS facilities if you are looking to purchase food and drink.
Cost
Everything onsite is FREE besides the food trucks of course! If you would like to purchase from the food trucks, they accept cash or EFTPOS.
Photography and Videographyβ
We will have event photographers and videographers documenting the event. If you do not want your photo taken, please let the camera person know.
βCOVID-19 Information
The City is committed to ensuring the best possible safety for event patrons, staff and suppliers at our events in relation to COVID-19. We will be implementing:
βοΈ Hand Sanitizer
βοΈ Professional cleaning and disinfection regimes for event venue with professional cleaners
βοΈ Display signage throughout to remind individuals to maintain good hand hygiene and respiratory etiquette
βοΈ Hands-free basins with liquid soap in toilet facilities
βοΈ Reminders for volunteers and staff not to attend if they are unwell, have been in contact with a positive COVID-19 patient, are awaiting COVID-19 test results or have been instructed to self-isolate
We ask event attendees to remember to:
β Practise good personal hygiene (wash hands often with soap and water, or hand sanitiser and cover coughs and sneezes with a tissue or use your elbow)
β Stay home if unwell and if you are experiencing flu-like symptoms get tested for COVID-19
β Follow the appropriate mask wearing and vaccination requirement guidelines at the time of the event
