About The Performers

MC - Jessie James

Jessie James standing on stage

You may recognise Jessie from Channel 7’s, Caravan & Camping WA, Fresh TV, Fresh Escapes and WA Weekender (and various others) where she smiles her way around WA and the world. Jessie is a sought after MC and Radio Announcer on-air at 6PR with her weekly segment ‘What’s On’ on the ‘Afternoons’ show. The City has been lucky enough to have Jessie MC at a number of events and we are looking forward to her friendly and funny quips at this year's Carols By Candlelight.

Canning City Brass

The Christmas Brass Band playing instruments

Proudly supported by the Canning City Council, Canning Brass plays at over 20 engagements each year, including street marches, public concerts, naturalisation ceremonies, as well as state and national competitions.  The band's first public performance was Carols by Candlelight for the council on 22 December 1974. Following the success of this event the band went on to play at the Supreme Court Gardens in 1975. The rest they say - is history, and the City is very pleased to welcome them back to Carols By Candlelight for 2023.

Rossmoyne Community Singers

A group of happy smiling women

The Rossmoyne Community Singers are a ladies choir who sing in three and four part harmony under the baton of Musical Director, Harry Oliff and accompanist, Jackson Griggs. The Community Singers are in their 25th year this year, so please give them an extra hand to celebrate!

WAAPA Gospel Choir

A large gospel choir standing together

Since 2015, the WAAPA Gospel Choir under the direction of Matt Allen has been entertaining audiences with polished vocals and seamless harmonies. An audition-only ensemble, the choir features some of Australia’s best young, up-and-coming singers who come together every week to rehearse repertoire inspired by the Gospel. They have sung with the likes of Mama Kin Spender, Drapht, Coin Banks and Katy Steele to name a few. We can't wait to see them in action!

Avenue Jazz Band

 A jazz band on stage

Lead by the soulful and glamorous Joyce Mathers, Avenue is looking forward to singing some traditional and popular Christmas tunes for you with their special jazz twist. The rest of the group include Kim Anning on guitar and vocals, Manoli Vouyoucalos on bass, Philip Hatton on saxophone and Pete Evans on drums.

Rock 'N' Toddle

For over 15 years, Rock n Toddle has rocked the foundation of future generations with their proven musical shows- delivering inclusive, fun, and immersive experiences to hundreds of thousands of kids across Australia and world-wide.

Producing customised themed shows, their propriety format and professional performance team ensures maximum fun, engagement and entertainment using props, puppets, live vocals and activities which introduce the joys of music to Mini Moshers and their families.

Queens Park Primary

Queens Park Primary school has grown quickly over the last five years, consisting of 340 students of all nationalities.

They work hard to maintain a friendly and family focused school community where every child has their place and diversity is celebrated. Their School choir is made up from a group of students from Years 4-6 who love music and hope to share their joy of singing with you.

Is The Event Accessible?

ACROD parking and accessible toilets are available as well as an easily accessible viewing platform for those in wheelchairs. This is located in the middle of the Amphitheatre and will be marked clearly with signage. We will also have an Auslan Interpreter on stage.
