Community Citizen of the Year Awards 2023

Each year Western Australian communities celebrate the positive contribution of our citizens throughout the state who are worthy of the community’s attention. The Community Citizen of the Year Awards profiles leading local citizens who are role models and who inspire us with their achievements and challenge us to make our own contribution to creating a better community.

The awards seek to recognise outstanding individuals and organisations that have made significant contributions to their local communities during the past year, or those who have given exceptional service over a sustained period.

There are four categories in the Awards:

  • - Community Citizen of the Year (over 16 years)
  • - Senior Community Citizen of the Year (65 years or over)
  • - Young Community Citizen of the Year (under 16-30 years)
  • - Active Citizenship Award (community groups or events)

City of Canning community members are welcome to submit a nomination for these awards which will get given out on the City's Family Fun Australia Day 2024 event.
