Persian New Year 2025 (Nowruz)

Nowruz, which means "new day," is an ancient festival celebrating the first day of spring and the renewal of nature. This festivity includes rituals, ceremonies, cultural events, and enjoying a special meal with loved ones. People wear new clothes, visit family and friends, and exchange gifts, especially for children.

Celebrated for over 3,000 years in regions like the Balkans, the Black Sea Basin, the Caucasus, Central Asia, the Middle East, and others, Nowruz promotes peace, solidarity between generations and within families, reconciliation, and neighborliness.

Nowruz enhances cultural diversity and fosters friendship, aligning with UNESCO's mission. It was recognized by UNESCO in 2009 and extended in 2016 as part of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity. This recognition involved countries like Afghanistan, Iran, India, Turkey, and more.

In 2010, the United Nations declared March 21st as the "International Day of Nowruz." This day celebrates the efforts of countries to preserve and promote Nowruz traditions, encouraging awareness and annual events.
