Wharf Street Wetland Wonders Walk

Have you ever wondered how a Constructed Wetland works to support Biodiversity and Water quality of the Canning River ?

Join CREEC Educator Megan Mentz on a wondrous walk of discovery beginning at the Canning Civic Centre to explore the Wharf St Wetland and ending at the Canning River Eco Education Centre. Discover how the constructed wetland pools, fringing vegetation and underground drainage systems continue to support animal habitats and biodiversity along the Canning river as part of the City's commitment to sustainably manage this space for future generations.

Inquisitive adults and mobile members of the community are encouraged to join us on this 4 km walk, as well as curious nature loving kids (10 years and above). Please wear closed in shoes, a hat, water bottle & wet weather jacket if conditions require it. Binoculars, bird and plant charts will be provided.

Enjoy a nourishing break to look around the Education Centre at the completion of walk before walking the short distance back to the Civic centre in your own time.
