Dust off those paintbrushes, sharpen those charcoals and get your creative juices flowing as the City of Canning opens submissions for the annual Art Awards.
Artists can submit works in various mediums including painting, drawing, 3D and sculpture, mixed media and photography. There is also a youth category open to any young person between the ages of 12 and 17 which is free to enter.
City of Canning Mayor Patrick Hall said the Canning Art Awards is a great opportunity for artists of all levels to showcase their work to the Canning community.
“The exhibition is very popular with over 6,500 people enjoying the dynamic display at Riverton Library in 2021. The exhibition will once again be on display at Canning’s innovative Riverton Library. The annual Art Awards could not be made possible without ongoing support from Canning Arts Group. The City is grateful for 30 years of support in different areas inclusive of the operating sales desk and installation of artwork.” he said
“Artists display their creativity in many different forms and by holding the Canning Art Awards, the City gives our community the opportunity to celebrate art and culture locally,” said Mayor Patrick Hall.
