What are pests?

Examples of common pest issues may include, but not limited to:

  • Ants
  • Bees in verge trees, parks or public areas 
  • Wasps under fence capping or in playground equipment
  • Termites in verge trees
  • Rats and mice
  • Cockroaches
  • Spiders
  • Pests in conservation areas - foxes, rabbits, feral cats
  • Mosquitoes

Public places

The City will investigate pests in:
  • natural areas, for example, City managed natural bushland, wetland, riverbank and creek line areas maintained for conservation and recreation purposes.
  • clean and kept areas, for example, City managed recreational areas such as parklands, ovals, streetscapes, access-ways or footpaths.
  • Council buildings and assets.
