Sport, Recreation and Community Facilities Grant 

Applications are by invitation following submission of an Expressions of Interest, due 23 September 2019 for funding in 2020-21 and 2021-22.  
Please note this is a lengthy and multi-stage process.‚Äč The City's grant aligns with the Department of Local Government, Sport and Cultural Industries - Community, Sporting, Recreation and Facilities Fund. Other funding sources will also be considered as match funding contributions. 

It is essential you speak to the Grants Officer before submitting an Expression of Interest (EOI) as your proposal will be considered within the broader context of the City of Canning.

Major and minor upgrades to facilities may be submitted to this round, as follows:

  • up to $5,000 is available for small upgrades and improvements to facilities used by sporting, recreation and community groups in the City of Canning. Evidence of ownership by a not-for-profit organisation or a lease for at least a further 12 months is a condition of this grant if the property is not owned by the City of Canning
  • facilities improvements over $5,000 (no cap) to improve sporting, recreation and community facilities owned by the City of Canning. Match funding is essential.

Community gardens, nature playgrounds or physical changes to City of Canning facilities or land should be submitted to this grant category.
