As part of the City’s commitment to be a welcoming and thriving City, we have partnered with the City of Stirling and the Metropolitan Migrant Resource Centre to deliver the Kaleidoscope Mentoring Program. The Kaleidoscope Mentoring Program has been funded by the Department of Social Services for a three year period up to 30 June 2021.
The Kaleidoscope Mentoring Program aims to help highly-skilled newcomer (migrants and refugees) professionals improve their employment potential by connecting them with mentors from their industry or occupation. Mentors help guide newcomers on a pathway to find employment within their industry. This benefits both the newcomers and employers in Western Australia by sharing of new ideas and boosting business development and cultural diversity in both the workplace and the community.
It is recognised that newcomers bring innovation and expertise to Western Australia, but they need the information and networks to succeed. The City of Canning is excited to be involved in the program and the opportunities it has for both our local residents and business community.
