Changing Places - Canning
"Changing Places are fully secure accessible toilets with an adult change table and hoist that meet the requirements of people with complex care needs. Changing Place facilities are designed so that they are completely accessible and provide sufficient space and equipment for people who are not able to use the toilet independently."
The Canning Changing Places facility was opened in August 2020 and is situated behind the City of Canning administration building and near to the Canning Amphitheatre, surrounded by accessible pathways.
Location: Canning Administration Centre and Civic Gardens
Details: This facility is open 24/7 with MLAK key access or open during City of Canning Administration Building office hours (8.15am - 5pm) Monday to Friday - please see City staff at the front reception desk for access during office hours. For non-urgent access after hours, please contact our Safe Canning Team on 1300 422 664.
Features: A ceiling hoist, adult-size change table and room for two support people.
Facility Location: Access via George Street West, turn off Albany Highway, take the second entrance to the City of Canning Administration Building carpark, this will take you to the Civic Centre Park and Changing Places will be on your left.
Access: Changing Places are unlocked using a Master Locksmith Access Key (MLAK). The key keeps the Changing Places network secure, safe and reserved for people who need them. If you are a Companion Card holder you automatically qualify for a free MLAK. If you are not a card holder, you may still be eligible, so please contact NDS - Changing Places on 1800 617 337 to enquire.
