Report, Remove, Prevent

Reporting Graffiti

Anyone can report acts of graffiti vandalism against public assets, community facilities or private property. If you see something, please report it as soon as possible.

To report graffiti on Council buildings, please call the City of Canning on 1300 422 664.

To report graffiti to police, use the Goodbye Graffiti website or call the State Graffiti Hotline on 1800 442 255. Call Police on 131 444 to report an offence in progress.

Removing Graffiti

Rapid graffiti removal is seen as best-practice in graffiti reduction as it reduces the level of recognition and reward sought by vandals. Prompt removal also prevents assets from appearing uncared for. The rapid removal of graffiti reduces the likelihood of further vandalism, maintains a clean neighbourhood and shows potential offenders that graffiti vandalism is not tolerated.

If you cannot remove graffiti from your property, contact the City of Canning for advice or visit Goodbye Graffiti for removal information and services.

Preventing Graffiti

Designing out crime is a crime prevention strategy which aims to reduce opportunities for crime through innovative design and management of the built and landscaped environment. Reduce the risk of graffiti damage to your property by making minimal changes to your house and garden.

Visit Goodbye Graffiti for more information on ‘Designing Out Crime’ and other innovations in graffiti prevention.
