The City of Canning’s Safe Communities team works together with key stakeholders and the local community on a variety of community safety and crime prevention initiatives, including Neighbourhood Watch. Community Safety Liaison Officers meet regularly with local policing teams to stay informed and share information regarding local crime issues and concerns.

The City of Canning’s Community Safety and Crime Prevention Plan 2016-2020 (CSCP) provides a framework to address key local crime prevention priorities, actions and responsibilities over a four year period. The Plan demonstrates the City's vision and commitment to safety and crime prevention initiatives in Canning.  Community Safety Liaison Officers are responsible for the implementation and delivery of the plans key actions and goals. ‘Be Safe and Save’ Security Incentive Scheme

The City is trialling a security incentive program to support residents and business owners in improving their level of security within and around their property.
Rebates are available on a range of security products including alarm systems, security screens, locks and sensor lights.

These publications and brochures can be easily downloaded below. Hard copies are also available from Community Safety Stations located at the City of Canning’s Administration Centre, libraries and Leisureplex facilities or via email customer@canning.wa.gov.au.
