We are on the hunt for young people with amazing ideas...

We're throwing out the red tape so you can break new ground with your ideas for youth-led change!

By pitching your idea you will have the chance to be awarded up to $10,000 to help you bring your idea to life in the community in 2020.

All ideas are encouraged, whether they are your wildest and most innovative, or the simple but significant. Be empowered to think outside the box, pursue the impossible, seize opportunities and create positive change on the issues that you feel passionately about for your community.

All ideas pitched will be visually represented by the City of Canning in an exciting pop-up engagement installation for other young people and the wider community to vote for their favourite ideas, launching on 26 March 2020 in the Riverton Library.

The ideas with the most community votes will be successful in receiving a grant of up to $10,000, a City of Canning mentor and a toolkit to help them bring their idea to life in their community.

Got an idea but want to chat it through?

GROUND BREAKING NEWS!!

The Ground Breakers Ideas Submission deadline has been extended to 5pm, Thursday 12 March 2020!

The deadline has been extended which has allowed an exciting new collaboration with Millennium Kids and the Changing Your World Youth Conference on Friday 6 March 2020.

With registrations still open, young people aged 11 - 17 attending the Changing Your World Youth Conference will take part in facilitated workshops and sessions identifying the issues and challenges in their community and co designing solutions that can be implemented to make positive change.

These ideas workshops will be facilitated by a number of professionals providing the time and advice needed to build on any ground-breaking ideas that you may like to submit in the Ground Breakers project.

As a new added opportunity, the conference participants will now have their workshopped ideas automatically pitched in the Ground Breakers initiative; making their ideas eligible for up to $10,000 in funding to be brought to life in the community in 2020.

If you are 11 - 17 years old and interested in building on your original ground breaking idea before submitting it or have already submitted an idea though would still like to attend and take part in the Changing Your World Youth Conference email info@millenniumkids.com.au for more information or to register.
