We recognise that what’s happening in your neighbourhood is important to you and we want to make sure you have the opportunity to be part of the conversation.
Our vision is to become a welcoming and thriving city and we can’t do that without understanding our community and what’s important to you. The City’s Your Say website is an opportunity to share your thoughts, take part in online discussions, voting polls, surveys and have your say on what’s important.
When do we consult with the community?
There are many times throughout the year when we’ll be asking our community for their opinions and comments on projects and initiatives the City is planning or implementing. These include, but aren’t limited to:
- where community views may inform the development or improvements to a project, plan, service or initiative
- where we need to identify community needs and perceptions
- where the City would like community members to assist in decision making
- when the City is required to consult with community members through legislation or policy.
Registering on the Your Say
website is a convenient way to stay informed on what’s happening in your community as well as receive updates on how your feedback has contributed to City decisions.
If you don’t have access to your own computer or internet access you can visit any one of our four City libraries in Cannington, Riverton, Willetton or Bentley to jump online.
We understand that not everyone loves going online, so we’ve made sure that we balance this with community workshops where our community can join in on group discussions and brainstorming for decisions and ideas. Make sure you connect with us on social media or registering at yoursaycanning.com.au to keep up to date on upcoming engagement opportunities.
One of the things we love about Canning is its diversity. If you’d like to provide feedback in your own language, we can help. Please call 1300 442 664 or email firstname.lastname@example.org
and we can get a translator to help you provide us with your important views and opinions.
