Seasonal hire of sports grounds

Our sports grounds are available for use by local clubs based on a seasonal expression of interest process. If you are a new club to Canning looking for a seasonal ground allocation, it is recommended you contact our Club Development team at clubs@canning.wa.gov.au prior to making an application, to discuss ground suitability and availability. 

To make an application for this 2022 Winter Season, complete the application forms and provide the information listed under Application Requirements below. Please send all documents to bookings@canning.wa.gov.au no later than Friday 31 January 2022. Preference will be given to applicants who had been granted seasonal access in the preceding year, and the next preference will be given to local organisations and then all other applications will be considered and provided for subject to availability.

TIMELINE FOR SEASONAL APPLICATIONS

Summer Season 8 October 2022 to 26 March 2023
Expression of Interest period opens TBC and closes TBC
Allocation of grounds will be notified to Clubs no later than the TBC

Winter Season 2 April 2022 to 25 September 2022
Expression of Interest period opens Monday 10 January 2022 and closes Friday 31 January 2022
Allocation of grounds will be notified to the Clubs of no later than the Friday 4 March 2022

Pre-season Training

Applications for pre-season training will be accepted when the seasonal application process commences. Pre-season training for summer clubs can commence in September and pre-season for winter clubs can commence in March, subject to the current season club commitments and the City's maintenance schedules.

Access to grounds for practice matches is limited as the installation of season-specific equipment will not commence until the essential ground maintenance period. Applications for practice matches prior to or during the essential maintenance period will be assessed on a case-by-case basis. Please contact your Active Spaces Officer to discuss.

Essential ground maintenance closures will occur in or around the period last week of September to the first week of October and the last week of March to the first week of April (Subject to change).
