Seasonal hire of sports grounds
Our sports grounds are available for use by local clubs based on a seasonal expression of interest process. If you are a new club to Canning looking for a seasonal ground allocation, it is recommended you contact our Actives Spaces (Recreation) Officers prior to making an application, to discuss ground suitability and availability. To make an application for this 2020 Winter Season, complete the application forms and provide the information listed under Application Requirements below. Please send all documents to firstname.lastname@example.org no later than Friday 24 January 2020. Preference will be given to applicants who had been granted seasonal access in the preceding year, and the next preference will be given to local organisations and then all other applications will be considered and provided for subject to availability.

Timeline for application
Summer Season 5 October 2019 to 22 March, 2020
Expression of Interest period opens Sunday 14 July 2019 and closes Saturday 3 August 2019
Allocation of grounds will commence immediately after closing and clubs will be notified of allocations no later than the 7 September 2019.
Winter Season 4 April 2020 to 20 September, 2020
Expression of Interest period opens Sunday 15 December 2019 and closes Friday 24 January 2020
Allocation of grounds will commence immediately after closing and clubs will be notified of allocations no later than the 1 March 2020.
Applications for pre-season training will be accepted when the seasonal application process commences. Pre-season training for summer clubs can commence in September and pre-season for winter clubs can commence in March, subject to the current season club commitments and the City's maintenance schedules.
Access to grounds for practice matches is limited as the installation of season-specific equipment will not commence until the essential ground maintenance period. Applications for practice matches prior to or during the essential maintenance period will be assessed on a case-by-case basis. Please contact your Active Spaces Officer to discuss.
Essential ground maintenance closures will occur in or around the period 23 September to 4 October 2019 and 23 March and 3 April 2020 (Subject to change).
