Regular physical activity and exercise are important to the physical and mental health of almost everyone, including older adults.
Staying physically active and exercising regularly can produce long-term health benefits and prevent a wide range of health conditions such as osteoporosis, arthritis, hypertension and diabetes.
You are never too old to start investing in your health and well being. In recognising this, the gym at Riverton Leisureplex offers award-winning senior fitness services and solutions catering to people 50 years of age and over.
We are a tier two provider of the Council on the Ageing WA’s Strength for Life program (formerly knows as Living Longer Living Stronger).
The program has more than 6,000 over 50s enrolled in individually-prescribed strength training programs. As an accredited and multi-award winning provider of this program, we run multiple sessions throughout the week focusing on many areas such as balance and coordination, strength training, aquatic and land-based group fitness, modified games and social events.
You will be provided with a detailed assessment and personalised workout plan to follow. We will then encourage and support you while instructing you on the correct technique and safety.
Prior to attending your first session, please print and complete the forms below. You will need a clearance from your medical practitioner.
