We've listened to your feedback!
Over the summer holidays, we worked hard behind the scenes to make some exciting new improvements. This includes updates to enrolment periods, additional parent chat weeks, a new skills-based approach to assessments, mid-term progression and more safety skills throughout the program.

What to expect at your assessment
One of our friendly staff will ask your child to demonstrate several swimming skills. We recognise swimmers from the Education Department, VacSwim and other swim schools, however this assessment will determine your child's level at Canning Swim School in our unique swimming lesson program. This free assessment will take approximately 10-15 minutes. Please bring along your swim wear, towel and goggles. Once the assessment is complete, you can then enrol online or at the centre.

Our Swim School combines fun with aquatic education to provide children lessons in stroke technique, personal development and water familiarisation.
Canning Swim School's comprehensive Learn to Swim program is available at two locations (Cannington Leisureplex and Riverton Leisureplex) with the added advantage of greater lesson choice.
The Swim Schools operate a term based program seven days a week and have five teaching pools across the two centres. This includes the program pool at Riverton Leisureplex and the leisure pool at Cannington Leisureplex, maintained at ideal temperatures for baby lessons.
What does your enrolment include?
Included in your enrolment is unlimited pool entry outside of your swimming lesson, giving swimmers the opportunity to practise what they have learnt at swimming lessons for free!
This applies to all customers who have an active swimming lesson or squad session enrolment and allows one child and one adult to access the pools. Swim School parents of an enrolled child who wish to redeem this offer can only do so if their enrolled child is present. Please note, this offer excludes the Wellness Suites at both centres.
