A public event is an effective way of bringing the community together and showcasing your group and its objectives. Events can be held annually, biannually or “one off”. Regardless of the number or frequency of your event there is a significant amount of planning that needs to be undertaken to ensure your event runs smoothly.

The City is has developed a Community Event Guide designed to make your community event a success, with a step-by-step guide for staging an event within the City of Canning. Supporting a variety of events that help contribute to a vibrant community, the City of Canning aims to ensure all events are successful, safe and compliant with all relevant legislation.

If you are a community-run or not-for-profit group, hosting an event, festival, celebration or important date that the City of Canning community would like to know about, then you are welcome to Submit your Event for the calendar. Terms and conditions apply.
