The City acknowledges the importance of and benefits that come from recycling used clothing and other household goods and supports charity activities that benefit the whole community.

Charity Bins

Bin Locator – Check for a bin near you - Go to external site here

You can assist in the following ways:

  • Always put your donation in the bin and not on the ground outside the bin, as it is illegal to dump goods around charity bins

  • Check to see which goods are accepted in the donation bins for recycling

  • Let the relevant organisation know if you see a bin site that is littered or vandalised so that they can clean it up. Phone numbers are provided on the sides of the bins

  • Some charities provide for free home collections such as the Good Samaritan Industries, who can be contacted at 1300 GOODSAMMY or 1300 466 372 to make arrangements.

Approval for Location of Charity Bin
