Roadworks Projects 2021

Traffic management at Hamilton and Walton Street, Queens Park

Modifications have been made to the Hamilton Street and Walton Street Traffic Management arrangement.

Following initial engineering observations and public feedback, the City has amended the roundabout island to better position vehicles to navigate the road carriageway.

Reflective paint has also been added to the intersection edges and lighting improvements have been made within the area.

The treatment in place is a short-term measure to allow sufficient time to plan and fund more permanent works whilst maintaining motorist safety.

The City has also been working on concept plans for the intersections of Sevenoaks; Hamilton; Railway; and Walton Streets and will soon commence consultation with residents and businesses in the area to seek their views on the proposal.

When approaching this intersection, please be aware of the changed traffic management conditions in the area and exercise caution.

Residents wishing to discuss these works are requested to contact the City of Canning Build Team on 13004CANNING or submit your enquiry via our request-it link

Works on Sevenoaks Street, Queens Park

From May to the end of June 2021, the City’s landscaping team and contractors will be undertaking roadworks on Sevenoaks Street to:
  • Construct bus embayments (north and south of Grose Avenue) to assist with layover buses from the busy Cannington Station and to prepare for future works on Cecil Avenue East
  • Remove existing trees (south of Grose Avenue) and replace them with new ones that are in line with the City’s Urban Forest Strategy
Traffic management will be in place throughout this time.
