Join the waste reduction revolution with our market held every second month!
Pick up a bargain at our Reuse Market and rescue items from landfill. You can find everything from the weird to the wonderful, starting from just 50c. The market takes place from 8am to 12pm on the third Saturday of every second month at the City’s Waste Transfer Station in Canning Vale (81 Ranford Road). It is managed by Workpower, an organisation that promotes employment for people with disability.
To increase the collection of good condition items, the City started a community drop-off at the Waste Transfer Station. Stillages to collect unwanted items in good condition are located in the top shed where people separate their waste. If you have unwanted items sitting at home, you can give them a second life and drop them off at the Transfer Station. The collected items will be sold at the Reuse Market. All proceeds are used for the market’s ongoing operation and other community waste-related initiatives. Note that staff will assess the quality and safety of the items and may decide they are not fit for this collection. This new initiative will increase the volume of waste diverted from landfill and push forward a more circular economy.

The next edition is scheduled on Saturday 19 November 2022.
Each Reuse Market always has a great range of pre-loved treasures such as power tools, homewares, CDs and DVDs, books, decorative objects, sporting equipment, clothing, furniture and knick knacks. The items are rescued from landfill by our team.
With METRONET's Ranford Road Station works happening nearby, the access point from Ranford Road into our Waste Transfer Station is now closed to the public. We are still open from 8am to 4.30pm (last car 4.15pm), but visitors are now required to enter from Wilfred Road and along Livingston Drive. The detour takes about 5-10 minutes and can be a little confusing, but we encourage you to keep going until you see the Transfer Station entry sign. See the map below for more details.
