Canning Vale Sports Complex

The Canning Vale Sports Complex is an essential infrastructure project designed to address the growing demand for community sports facilities within the City of Canning and surrounding local governments.

Located within Lot 166-167 Clifton Road in Canning Vale, the project aims to significantly enhance the local community's access to high-quality sports infrastructure, particularly focusing on soccer, AFL, cricket, and athletics. This project will enhance social cohesion, liveability, and accessibility. 

The project scope includes:

• two natural turf AFL fields to support local and regional Australian Rules football competitions and training
• two natural turf cricket pitches for summer sports use, integrated into the AFL fields
• two natural turf soccer fields to accommodate junior and senior teams, with capacity for tournament play
• one natural turf athletics and field sports area to support track and field training, school carnivals, and community events
• cricket wickets and training nets to support skills development and year-round participation
• clubroom and change room building, including amenities and a storage shed to support clubs, volunteers, and spectators
• sports lighting across key playing areas to maximise usage during evenings and across seasons
• new roundabout access and rural path access to ensure safe and efficient connectivity for all users
• a 104-bay car park and internal shared paths, providing safe, accessible circulation throughout the precinct.

The project is set to be delivered with a budget of $25,000,000 and addresses the most urgent needs identified in the City of Canning’s Community Infrastructure Strategy.

Once complete, the Canning Vale Sports Complex will be a vital piece of community infrastructure, enabling year-round use, supporting talent pathways, and contributing to the health, wellbeing, and liveability of the broader south metropolitan region.

The project is funded by the city, state, and federal governments.
