Wyong Reserve Sporting Facilities Upgrade

This project will deliver new inclusive change rooms and a refurbished Merv McIntosh Pavilion, improving the quality, accessibility and functionality of sporting facilities at Wyong Reserve.

The upgraded pavilion will provide modern social spaces that better support local clubs and community use.

Key elements of the project include:

  • Construction of new gender-neutral change rooms, ensuring safe and inclusive facilities for all users.
  • Social hall with amenities, upgrade to the amenities at Merv McIntosh Pavilion to better support club functions and community events.
  • New storage areas to accommodate growing participation and equipment needs.
  • Accessibility provisions throughout the facility, ensuring compliance with current standards and equitable access for all.

Tenders for construction closed in early February with a contractor expected to be appointed in March and construction anticipated to commence in late April 2026, subject to final approvals.

This investment will future proof the site, promote gender equity, and strengthen community participation in sport and recreation.

  • 1 July 2025 – Project started

    Project planning commenced.

  • December to January 2026 – Tender open period

    The construction tender was advertised during this period, inviting qualified contractors to submit bids for the works.

  • February to March 2026 – Planned tender award

    The assessment and reporting of the tender results are anticipated to wrap up by March 2026, with the appointment of the successful contractor.

  • Late April 2026 – Planned construction commencement

    Construction works are expected to commence in late April 2026 subject to final approvals.

  • End of December 2026 – Planned construction completion

    The goal is to complete the building works by the end of 2026.
