Canning Business Mentoring Program

The Canning Business Mentoring Program is here to help turn your business ideas into reality.

Whether you are just starting out or looking to grow, the program connects you with experienced mentors, practical workshops and expert-led sessions designed to build skills, confidence and capability. Successful applicants take part in programs fully funded by the City.

What the program offers

In 2026 the City is offering opportunities across four program areas.

School-Age Mentoring Programs

Featuring a Future Female Leaders program and classroom sessions for young people interested in business and entrepreneurship.

Adult Mentoring Programs

Extensive programs run by experts covering how to turn ideas into income and how to grow your business. Programs are delivered by experienced facilitators across different stages of business development.

Business Foundations

Single sessions teaching the basics of setting up your business and implementing digital marketing. Ideal for those just getting started.

Business Skills Workshops

Short, practical workshops covering a wide range of business topics. A great way to build specific skills without a long-term commitment.

All programs are fully funded by the City. You must be a resident or business owner operating within the City to be eligible. Virtual offices do not qualify. You can only be considered for one program every 12 months and will not be eligible to repeat the same program the following year.
