Join us for The Great Global Mend, a massive community textile repair event!
Calling all sewers, sock darners, knitters, and anyone with something in need of repair! On Saturday 11 October 2025, at 11am, menders across 16 Perth Metropolitan Councils will come together for the Great Global Mend.
This is your chance to be part of a one-of-a-kind celebration of creativity, sustainability, and community. Whether you’re a mending master or a total beginner, we’ve got something for you!
- Hillview Intercultural Community Centre (1-3 Hill View Pl, Bentley)
- Saturday 11 October 2025
- 11am (arrive slightly beforehand so you are ready to go!)
Bring a torn or worn piece of clothing or textile to repair, don’t forget your own sewing kit and join the fun!
We’re also teaming up with FabPatch, a fantastic small business offering free rub-on patches to the community. So even if you don’t sew, darn, or knit, you can still patch up your favourite garment or shoes and give them a second life! Please note there will be a limited number of patches available.
Also, for those who may need some extra assistance, we will be running an Upcycle and Repair with Patches workshop from 10am–11am at the same location (Hillview Intercultural Community Centre). Tickets for this workshop have not opened yet, however please stay tuned for more information.
Come for the repairs, stay for the inspiration! Let's celebrate the art of mending together!
*Please note this is an unofficial world record attempt.
