Canning community set to shine at the 2025 Christmas Carols Concert
The City of Canning will welcome families, friends and local residents to the Civic Amphitheatre on Saturday 13 December for the annual Christmas Carols Concert, a much-loved celebration that brings the community together for an evening of festive joy and live entertainment.
Running from 5.30pm to 8pm, the free event will transform the Amphitheatre at George Street West in Cannington, into a vibrant gathering place filled with music, colour and Christmas spirit.
The event will feature performances by community choirs, bands and local talent, with familiar carols and singalong moments that will appeal to all. There will also be a special visit from the big man in the red suit before the concert starts.
Mayor Patrick Hall said the Christmas Carols Concert remains one of the City’s most treasured community traditions.
“Every year we see families spread out on picnic rugs, children laughing and locals reconnecting as the sun sets behind the Amphitheatre. It truly captures what the festive season is about. We are proud to present an event where everyone feels welcome and the community shines.”
The evening will also include children’s activities, roving performers, and plenty of opportunities for festive photos.
There will be food trucks, with snacks and refreshments available for purchase. As a reusable friendly event the food trucks will be using reusable servewares.
Attendees are also encouraged to bring a picnic, and low chairs or rugs to settle in early and enjoy the concert. This is a dog friendly event, and family pooches are welcome on leads.
The location is well connected with nearby parking, public transport on Albany Highway and bicycle access for attendees. There will also be an Auslan interpreter at the event, supporting a relaxed and inclusive environment.
The City of Canning invites the community to save the date, gather their loved ones and join in an evening that celebrates the spirit of Christmas in the heart of Canning. This event is supported by Department of Biodiversity, Conservation and Attraction’s Plastic Free Riverpark Program, and Perth Airport.
