The City of Canning invites kids and families to enjoy some muddy good fun at this year’s Perth Airport Muddy Hands Festival on Saturday 22 November, from 10am – 3pm.

Kids of all ages are encouraged to come down to Kent Street Weir in Wilson for this free, non-ticketed event. Kids can unplug, get muddy, and have fun being amongst nature with fantastic muddy experiences in the Mudster Chef Kitchens and mud pits.

There’ll also be plenty to do for those who don’t want to get muddy, including building cubbyhouses, learning about insects, making flower crowns, adorable animals to pat, making birds’ nests, listening to stories, enjoying the Sensational Entertainers and so much more.
City of Canning Mayor Patrick Hall said this event is an incredible highlight on the City’s Major Events calendar.

“Muddy Hands is very important to the Canning community, with more than 3,000 residents coming along to experience the fun.

“It is a safe and inclusive space for Canning’s greatly diverse range of families, allowing them to come together, have some messy fun and gain a greater appreciation of our beautiful Canning River parklands.

“There are plenty of amazing play activities available for all kids and adults to experience together – even for those that don’t want to get dirty in the muddy fun. It is truly a welcoming space for everybody,” Mayor Hall encourages.

Attendees are more than welcome to bring a rug and picnic food. Food and refreshments will be available to purchase through the Canning River Café and food trucks.

There will be limited free onsite parking and people are encouraged to carpool or take public transport.

This smoke-free event will feature reusable serve-ware and community members are encouraged to bring their reusable drink bottles and coffee cup as the event is low waste.
