Held in collaboration with the City’s Youth Services team and SpaceJump, the Gaming Open Day will be run over two sessions, from 10am to 12pm and 12pm to 2pm.
This family friendly event will feature a range of activities for adults and kids aged 6 and over, including immersive virtual reality experiences, the excitement of video games, a taste of the rapidly growing world of esports, as well as the nostalgic charm of classic board games.
SpaceJump’s 2v2 Rocket League activation will offer participants a thrilling taste of competitive gaming in a dynamic, in-person environment.
Mayor Patrick Hall encourages the community to come along and experience this unique event.
“This event is a local celebration of gaming culture, offering our community an inclusive space to engage with everything they love about gaming.
“Whether you're bringing friends and family or just your curiosity, I encourage everyone to come along, explore, connect, and celebrate the power of play,” said Mayor Hall.
SpaceJump’s partnership with the City marks a first for local government in Western Australia, introducing the community to the global phenomenon of esports.
