Maniana Park officially opens in Queens Park

The City of Canning has proudly opened the redeveloped Queens Park Open Space, now known as Maniana Park, creating a vibrant destination for residents, families, sporting clubs and the wider community.
This transformation has delivered a modern district-level playground, a new BMX pump track, upgraded sporting facilities and a dedicated conservation area.
Mayor Patrick Hall said Maniana Park will quickly become a hub for community life in Canning.
“We’re excited to welcome the community into this outstanding space. Maniana Park brings together play, sport and nature, providing opportunities for recreation and connection for people of all ages, backgrounds and abilities,” Mayor Hall said.
The redeveloped park includes:
- A large adventure playground designed for a diverse range of ages and abilities
- A new BMX pump track
- Upgraded cricket practice nets
- A full-sized oval suitable for cricket, football and soccer
- Improved sport and club facilities
- A conservation area supporting local biodiversity
The park is also set to host major community events, adding to its role as a central gathering place for the City of Canning, which is proud of its reputation as one of Western Australia’s most culturally diverse and inclusive communities.
Residents and visitors are encouraged to explore the new facilities, join in activities with local sporting clubs and enjoy the green open space.
The Australian Federal Government provided $5,300,000 to the $7,140,000 project. The City of Canning provided $1,800,000 towards the project, with WA Cricket and Cricket Australia through the Australian Cricket Infrastructure Fund contributing $40,000.
Zaneta Mascarenhas MP Federal Member for Swan, said, “Queens Park locals wanted vibrant spaces to enjoy together — and we’ve delivered. This area is built for play, sport and connection. Right where it’s needed for this thriving place of young hard-working families.”
