Ongoing Training at Canning Swim School: Supporting Excellence in the Water
At Canning Swim School, we're committed to providing the highest quality swimming education – and that begins with our teachers.
Behind every confident swimmer is a teacher who is not only passionate but also continually learning, growing, and refining their skills.
Professional Development That Makes a Difference
Our team of swim teachers regularly participates in professional development sessions to ensure they stay up to date with the latest industry standards, techniques, and safety practices. Most recently, our teachers have taken part in specialised training delivered by Royal Life Saving WA, covering a wide range of vital topics, including:
- Stroke Correction and Drills: Helping swimmers of all ages build strong, efficient strokes through effective technique and targeted practice.
- Infant and Preschool Aquatics: Supporting our youngest swimmers with a gentle, child-centred approach that nurtures water confidence and safety from the earliest age.
- Swim Teacher Rescue Award: Equipping our teachers with the knowledge and hands-on skills needed to respond confidently and safely in the event of an emergency.
Biannual Swim School Conferences
In addition to ongoing PD, our team also attends Canning Swim School's Biannual Conferences, which are designed to inspire, connect, and upskill our staff. These full-day events bring our teaching team together for workshops, guest speakers, networking, and knowledge-sharing. It's a valuable chance to reflect on what we do, explore new ideas, and strengthen our culture of teamwork and excellence.
