Supporting the Next Generation of Female Leaders

Continuing its commitment to empowering young women, the City of Canning proudly sponsored two participants in the 2025 Future Female Leaders Program, marking the second year in which the City has supported this inspiring initiative.
The six-month program, which is delivered by experienced educators and industry experts, gives Year 10-11 girls the opportunity to develop their confidence, leadership and communications skills to thrive in school, life and their future career. Participants are encouraged to think critically about global challenges around them, by designing a social impact project that aligns with one of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.
Pitching their project to a live audience made up of their mentors, potential investors and entrepreneurs, the young women are put into a real-life learning how to network and connect with real professionals.
The program concluded in September with a vibrant Graduation Gala Dinner, where the twenty participants graduated with newly found confidence and enthusiasm supported by major Western Australian corporations and leading entrepreneurial local governments.
The City of Canning congratulates all members of this year’s cohort for their achievements and looks forward to seeing the positive change that all participants will continue to bring to their communities, society and beyond.
