Deceased wildlife
You can report deceased wildlife in all City managed recreational areas such as parklands, ovals, streetscapes, access-ways or footpaths.
If the deceased wildlife is located in natural areas (i.e. bushland) and is small, then it is best for the environment to leave it where it is.
Natural areas that are not regularly frequented, such as the Ranford Bushland, are not regularly maintained by the City. For this reason, typically deceased native wildlife can be left for natural decomposition to occur.
If the dead animal is creating a smell or is large and most likely will create a smell in a regularly accessed area, please request a collection.
Black cockatoos
If the deceased wildlife is a black cockatoo or you have noticed a tag or radio collar on the animal, please contact the Department of Biodiversity, Conservation and Attractions on 9219 9000.
Not wildlife
If the deceased animal is not a native animal but a domestic animal like a dog, cat or livestock, please refer to the Deceased Domestic Animals page.
