Urgent requests
If a building or structure is in danger of collapse or damage, please report it to the City by calling 1300 422 664. This will allow an Officer to respond with the highest priority.
Verge Permits
A Verge Permit is required prior to storing building materials (such as sand, bricks, steel, timber and cement) on a City verge during building, demolition or development works.
In order to gain approval to use the verge and protect the City's infrastructure against damage for any purpose relating to building activities, please complete the Verge Permit Application.
Issues with neighbours
People are sometimes unaware that their activities are causing a problem. The City encourages all residents and business operators to talk to their neighbours about problems before making a complaint. Visit the resolving disputes with neighbours page for more information.
Damage to private property resulting from neighbouring building works, such as cracked walls or paving, is considered to be a civil matter. It can be suggested that the customer consult with their insurance company or they may wish to take other civil action.
If the damage renders the customer's property dangerous, please report it to the City by calling 1300 422 664. This will allow an Officer to respond with the highest priority.
