On-demand donation collection service

The City of Canning has partnered with Good Sammy (a local for-purpose organisation) to offer Canning residents a 12-month pilot program for on-demand collections of quality pre-loved items.
This initiative aims to help divert pre-loved textiles and household items from landfill, promoting a more sustainable approach to waste management within the community.
The partnership offers residents free on-demand collections of quality pre-loved clothing, shoes, handbags, clothing accessories, bed linen, towels, kitchenware, and toys.
Collected items will be resold in Good Sammy's op shops, keeping useable items in circulation longer and creating less waste. Proceeds from sale of donated items will be used to support Good Sammy's mission to provide employment to Western Australians living with a disability.
The pilot will be run for 12 months from November 2024 to November 2025.
