Queens Park Open Space

The City of Canning is delighted to be working with the State Government on the masterplan for the Queens Park Regional Open Space and the State Football Centre.

The masterplan (plan) is being prepared by the Department of Local Government, Sport and Cultural Industries, in collaboration with the City. The plan will guide the future enhancement and management of the Queens Park Open Space, including Maniana Park.

The City will work closely with Queens Park residents and the Department to ensure the plan meets the community’s expectations. The plan will take into consideration:

• enhancing public open spaces for local residents to enjoy
• improving and preserving surrounding natural bushland
• access to new playing fields.

This will be a great opportunity to revitalise the area. It will help to create a more attractive park environment and active space, and ensure the future of the open space aligns to the community's daily activities.

It will also result in a substantial increase in tree planting, improved water management and opportunities to enhance the environment and protect the reserve.
