Local Drug Action Group

The Armadale, Canning, and Gosnells Local Drug Action Group (LDAG) provides a coordinated response to prevent and reduce alcohol-related harm in our communities.

Alcohol Action Plan

The LDAG's Armadale Canning Gosnells Alcohol Action Plan 2023 - 2026 (PDF 5MB) sets the actions and strategies needed to reduce alcohol-related harm across our communities.

Drinking alcohol can cause harm from intoxication or regular consumption. These harms not only hurt the person with problematic alcohol use but can also impact their loved ones and the community. After consultation with the community, it was identified that local solutions were the best way to reduce alcohol-related harm.

It was agreed that coordination between local governments was needed to reduce the impact of alcohol consumption. As such, the LDAG was established and implemented the first Alcohol Action Plan from 2019 to 2022.

To continue this work, LDAG members have reviewed the previous Plan, which involved meeting with stakeholders to assess current activity and local data. This has led to the publishing of the Alcohol Action Plan 2023 – 2026 (PDF 5MB).

The Plan continues to support partnerships between community and service providers and outlines comprehensive strategies to address identified local alcohol-related priority areas.

The three priority areas of the Alcohol Action Plan 2023 - 2026 are:

  1. underage drinking
  2. safe and healthy environments
  3. community connections.

To learn about the strategies and actions to address these priorities, please read the Alcohol Action Plan 2023 – 2026 (PDF 5MB).

You can also read the previous Alcohol Action Plan 2019 – 2022 (PDF 2.2MB).
