New community waste fees for tenants

Council, at its meeting held on 29 July 2025, resolved to introduce a new fee structure for Community Waste fees, as they apply to community groups leasing or using the City’s facilities. This constitutes an amendment to Council’s adopted Schedule of Fees and Charges, pursuant to section 6.16(3)(b) of the Local Government Act 1995.

The new fee structure is described below:

Community Waste Services

1. 240 Litre General Waste Bin - $100/bin per season or $200/bin for a full year
2. 240 Litre Recycle Bin - $75/bin per season or $150/bin for a full year.

It is a requirement of section 6.19 of the Local Government Act 1995 that the City gives local public notice of the intention to introduce this fee, effective as of 18 August 2025.
