Group fitness classes

Our Leisureplexes provide an amazing variety of fun and engaging group fitness programs.

You can book classes online. Bookings open 21 hours before the class start time.

You can book classes online. Bookings open 21 hours before the class start time.

Please make sure you arrive at least 5 minutes before the class starting as late entry is not permitted.

The best way to attend as many classes as possible is to become a Fitness Member. Visit the Memberships page to learn more. You can also buy 10 multi-passes or pay casually at the main reception.

Cancelling a class

Members must cancel classes they can no longer attend. This allows other members to attend group fitness classes.

How to cancel your class

  1. Open the booking portal and log in to your account.
  2. Click the Group Fitness tile.
  3. Click View Admission Tickets.
  4. Select the class booking(s) you wish to cancel.
  5. Scroll to the bottom of the Admission Ticket page and click Cancel Admission.
  6. Reconfirm your cancellation by clicking the Cancel Admission button.
  7. Your selected class is now cancelled.

Class details

Group fitness classes are designed for those who prefer to exercise within a fun and positive group environment.

Taught by qualified instructors, classes are suitable for all fitness levels. We recommend trying a variety of classes and experience different instructors.

We have something for everybody. Work out with friends or join our vibrant group fitness community and make some new friends.

A yoga-based class to improve your mind, your body, and your life.

During Bodybalance you bend and stretch through a series of simple yoga moves. It embrace elements of Tai Chi and Pilates. You’ll improve your flexibility, increase core strength, and reduce stress levels. Breathing control is a part of all the exercises. You’ll strengthen your entire body and leave the class feeling calm and centred.

Instructors will always provide options for those getting started.

Classes at Riverton Leisureplex.

Bodypump is full-body barbell workout. It can help burn calories, shape and tone your body, increase core strength, and improve bone health. By using light to moderate weights with lots of repetition, Bodypump gives you a total body workout.

Instructors will coach you through the moves and techniques. You’ll leave the class feeling challenged and motivated, ready to come back for more.

Classes at Riverton Leisureplex.

Basic stepping, like walking up and down stairs, is at the heart of Bodystep Classic. It is a full-body cardio workout to tone up your thighs and get your body moving.

In the higher-level Bodystep Athletic class, you combine basic stepping with more advanced moves. This can include burpees, push ups, and weight plate exercises to work the upper body.

Our instructors coach you through the workout. Begin with a low step and follow our instructor as they coach you through the options. Starting with Bodystep Classic is a good idea, as you won’t need to worry about coordination or fancy footwork.

Classes at Riverton Leisureplex.

Bootcamp is the ultimate back-to-basics workout. The outdoor class incorporates fitness tests, harder exercises, cardio activities, and team challenges. It is designed to push you to your limits.

Classes offer a full-body workout that builds strength, agility, and fitness. Suitable for all ages over 16 years and all levels of fitness. Instructors provide options to ensure those from all fitness levels can take part.

All you need to bring is comfortable clothing, a drink bottle, and a towel. All other equipment is provided but you are more than welcome to bring your own boxing gloves.

Bootcamp is available at Cannington and Riverton Leisureplex.

Box Fit is a boxing inspired workout designed to challenge your fitness and power. It is a great cardio workout that also improves for upper body shaping and strengthening.

Suitable for all ages over 16 years and for all levels of fitness. Instructors provide options to ensure those from all fitness levels can take part.

Classes at Cannington and Riverton Leisureplex.

A workout for toning and performance. It focuses on strength, stability, endurance, balance, and injury prevention.

All the moves in Core have options, so it’s challenging but achievable for your own level of fitness. During the workout, trained instructors guide you through correct technique.

You will work with resistance tubes and weight plates. It also includes body weight exercises like crunches.

An indoor cycle class where you and the instructor track your progress throughout the workout. Suitable for all levels of fitness.

GymFit is a unique gym-based circuit class similar to boot camp. It provides a great full body workout. The instructor will take you through exercises focusing on strength, power, cardio, and more!

Suitable for all ages over 16 years and for all levels of fitness. Instructors provide options to ensure those from all fitness levels can take part.

Classes at Cannington Leisureplex.

Konga is an easy-to-follow, high-intensity fusion of boxing, cardio, dance, and sculpting.

This workout is designed to shape, sculpt, and redefine your physique. It is a low-complexity, high-intensity workout. Suitable for all ages and fitness levels.

Pilates is a fantastic workout to improve your body’s core strength, flexibility, and awareness. It also helps support efficient, graceful movement.

You will improve flexibility while increasing muscle strength and tone. Pilates is a great place to start if you're looking for a core workout for your abdominals, lower back, hips, and buttocks. It is suitable for all ages over 16 years and for all levels of fitness.

The Leisureplexes also provide Seniors Pilates. It has the same features and benefits as regular Pilates but has been designed specifically for seniors.

Classes at Cannington and Riverton Leisureplex.

Sh'Bam is a dance classic where no dance experience required. All you need is a playful attitude and willingness to dance.

Anyone of any age or fitness level can do Sh'Bam. Your instructor will guide you through a series of simple dance moves, all set to a party playlist.

Stretch helps you find new stretching techniques and achieve greater flexibility. Stretching is a vital component of fitness, as it can help reduce injuries and boost the effectiveness of your workouts.

A single functional workout that is unlike any other group fitness experience. Track your progress with real time heart rate monitors and try to match the beat. Suitable for all levels of fitness.

Heart rate monitors are available to buy from reception.

Provided at Riverton Leisureplex.

Tone mixes aerobic exercise, resistance training, stretching, and mobility work. It provides the optimal mix of strength, cardio, and core training.

A great foundational class, Tone has a variety of options to suit all fitness levels.

Our Leisureplexes provide a different yoga classes and variations. There is a class for all skill levels and interests.

Core Yoga and Meditation – features elements of Vinyasa yoga and Pilates. The class ends with a beautiful and relaxing guided meditation. You will leave the class with a renewed sense of calm, whilst having worked every muscle in your body. Suitable for all ages over 16 years and for all levels of fitness. Provided at Cannington Leisureplex.

Power Yoga – a faster paced form of yoga based on improving strength and fitness. Not suitable for those with mobility issues. Provided at Riverton Leisureplex.

Seniors Yoga – tailored for participants over the age of 50. This class combines physical poses, mindfulness, breathing techniques, and meditation. These practices promote mobility, physical self-awareness, and assist to rebalance the nervous system. You will learn how to move and stretch in a way that is safe and beneficial to you and your body. This class is suitable for all levels of fitness. Seniors Yoga is for Seniors Card holders, DVA and Strength for Life members only. Provided at Cannington Leisureplex.

Slow Flow Vinyasa Yoga – a slower paced style of yoga with postures which are held for various periods of time. You can expect to leave Slow Flow Vinyasa feeling relaxed, calm, and centred. You will focus on breathing, meditation, and the calming of the mind. Suitable for all ages over 16 years and for all levels of fitness. This class is excellent for beginners. Provided at Cannington and Riverton Leisureplex.

Yoga FITT – emphasises the sports science and alignment principles of Yoga. It allows for everybody – it doesn’t matter what your fitness levels, age, or health conditions. Suitable for all ages over 16.

Yogalates – combines the breathing control and flexibility of yoga, with strength and toning of Pilates. This class is suitable and beneficial for those of all levels of fitness and provides a fun and engaging workout.

Workout on demands

Leisureplex members can access free workouts on demand through MyWellness.

The MyWellness website has more than 50 workouts available to Leisureplex members. It includes workouts taught by the Leisureplex instructors you know and love.

To access the workouts on demand, simply sign up to MyWellness.
