Leisureplex Conditions of Entry

Signs specifying conditions of use which apply in accordance with clause 3.8 of the City’s Local Government Property and Public Places Local Law 2021. It is a condition of entry to the centre that all patrons adhere to the City of Canning Local Government Property and Public Places Local Law 2021.

Management reserves the right to refuse entry to, or direct any person to leave the centre, who does not comply with these requirements.

Please observe the following conditions of use when using the centre:

  1. Pay the appropriate fees and must not behave in a manner which interferes with, or is likely to, interrupt or disturb the enjoyment of a person using or intending to use the centre.
  2. The City of Canning supports the WATCH AROUND WATER program and follows their guidelines:
  3. Children under 12 years are not allowed entry unless under active supervision of a person 16 years or older.
  4. Parents or guardians should actively supervise their children at all times. As such, they should be dressed ready for action, including unexpected entry to a pool.
  5. A parent or guardian must accompany his/her children between 0-6 years in the water at all times, and must remain within arm’s reach of the child. It is best if you are engaging with your child e.g. playing with them, talking to them, touching them.
  6. For children 6-12 years a parent or guardian should be close enough to make eye contact with the child and be constantly watching them.
  7. People with communicable/infection diseases including gastrointestinal related illnesses and skin infections are not permitted to use the swimming pools.
  8. Immunosuppressed individuals are not permitted entry to the pool.
  9. Patrons are required to shower before entering the pools.
  10. People under the apparent influence of alcohol, or drugs will not be permitted entry into the centre.
  11. Children who ordinarily wear a nappy are required to wear an aqua nappy when use the pools.
  12. Management reserves the right to check all eskies and bags upon entry.
  13. No glass is permitted within the centre.
  14. No smoking is permitted within the centre or within a 10 metre radius of any entrance or exit.
  15. The personal space of other patrons is to be respected at all times.
  16. Please respect all staff and follow all instructions provided.
  17. Patrons are encouraged to use the disinfectant wipes and hand sanitisation stations provided throughout the centre.
  18. Please familiarise yourself with the signs with warnings, rules and notices placed around the centre. You and any dependents under your care must comply with the warning, rules and instructions on the signs and follow any directions given to you by centre staff.
  19. You must take reasonable care for your own safety and the safety of any dependents in your care. Centre staff will follow procedures in the event of any accident or incident. If this requires professional medical assistance or an ambulance to be called, you will be responsible for these associated costs.
  20. Clean and appropriate swimwear must be worn at all times while swimming (no street wear, t-shirts, shirts, jeans, underwear etc. allowed).
  21. Management welcomes the capturing of your magic moments on cameras and video cameras, however, the privacy of others must be respected. The use of cameras and video cameras is conditional upon the following:
    • You must have all relevant individuals’ consent to take and use images.
    • Under no circumstances are cameras, video cameras and mobile phones to be used in the change rooms.
  22. You are responsible for all your belongings that you bring into the centre and, to the extent permitted by law, the City of Canning accept no responsibility for any loss, damage or theft of belongings.
  23. For the purposes of patron and staff safety, the centre uses CCTV and alarm security surveillance systems. We reserve the right to use these images for security purposes related to the centre, and as such, you may be monitored or captured on CCTV footage.
  24. We reserve the right to authorise City of Canning staff or other representatives, agents or contracts to take photographs and videos of patrons from time to time, including you or any minors in your care or under your supervision, for marketing or promotional purposes without prior notice given to you, payment to you or express consent from you. By entering and using these facilities you are deemed to consent to such photos or video footage being taken, unless you inform our staff members otherwise.
  25. For the comfort and safety of both patrons and yourself, the following are not tolerated:
    • Running around the pool
    • Disruptive behaviour or rough play
    • Spitting and swearing
    • Somersaults and dangerous jumps
    • Sitting or lying on or across lane ropes
    • Eating or drinking on the pool concourse
    • Threatening behaviour
  26. Behaviours that are considering threating include:
    • An uttered, written or gestured threat to kill or harm a person other than the threatener;
    • An uttered, written or gestured threat to self-harm or suicide;
    • An uttered or written threat to damage property;
    • Any act of physical violence or property damage;
    • Stalking (repeated, unwanted contact which can arouse apprehension and fear);
    • Bullying;
    • Sexual harassment or any inappropriate physical contact or comments
    • Shouting;
    • Standing very close;
    • Revealing inappropriate knowledge of personal information;
    • Aggressive actions;
    • Demanding unwarranted special attention or consideration;
    • Inappropriate comments or behaviours related to gender, race, ethnicity or religious beliefs.
